Hilary is available to teach flute, violin, piano and music theory to pupils aged 7 years upwards (including adults) of any ability (beginners welcome). Her music teaching work has currently moved online (using the Zoom app) due to the Covid 19 epidemic.

She is fully DBS checked and has over 15 years of teaching and performing experience, including teaching in various schools and music centres across Somerset and North Wales.

Hilary has a person-centred, patient and very adaptable approach to teaching, aiming to help each pupil meet their individual musical goals. She is familiar with most of the popular tuition books for each instrument she teaches, and combines this material with a range of other technical exercises and popular/folk tunes to create a varied and enjoyable programme for each pupil.

Hilary has extensive experience of preparing pupils for ABRSM music grade exams, and can also provide tutoring for GCSE and A Level Music. However, she is equally adept at teaching those who prefer to approach music as an enjoyable hobby.
